About Us

We have been researching our family tree for over 20+ years. Our great great uncle was the first member of the family that we know of who researched our paternal side. Then our great grandfather was also interested in finding out where we came from. There was no " world wide web" when he was doing his research. Mostly he visited libraries and wrote his findings on index cards that were stored in shoe boxes. ( some of these still exist today ) I think now he would have loved the internet and all it has to offer.

Researching can sometimes turn into quite an expensive hobby to some. From subscriptions to sending away for documents. Sometimes your findings leave you with nothing...a dead end. You end up paying way too much. Here at Frugal Genealogy we will show you some free sites that are right there online that you can search through and use. We strive to help people find the information to get them started or to just get through a brick wall. I don't know how many times these sites have helped us. 

Links with databases are added almost everyday. We do share mostly free sites but some subscriptions or other information is not for free. These we find highly recommended to look into and even subscribe to, even if just for the trial or short period that they have to offer. I also highly recommend putting your family tree online at a few different places. You never know when you might come across someone who may be related or even wants to help you.
